About Deborah

I was looking for a way home.

My work grew out of a lifelong return: to the Church, to the wisdom of the body, and to the truth that God does not ask us to become divided people.

I am Dr. Deborah A. Cantù-García, and Archekairos™ is the name I give to the way I now walk with women of faith.

The night before my First Communion, my family left the Catholic Church. I was seven years old. The nuns had spent years preparing me, and I understood that something sacred was waiting for me at that altar. I felt it in my bones. And then we left.

For the next two decades I searched, from church to church and community to community, carrying the same ache. Something was missing, and I didn't yet know it had a name.

Years later, I found my way home to the Catholic Church. But coming home to my faith was only part of the return. I had spent so long searching and striving that I was faithful and exhausted at the same time, and I didn't understand why. So I went back to school to study natural medicine, and the more I learned about the body, the more I recognized what Scripture and the Church had been teaching all along: the body and the soul were never meant to be cared for apart.

For more than twenty years I have walked with souls through faith formation. Now I also walk with women who are doing everything they know how to do and still feel far from themselves, and from God. Archekairos grew out of my own return. It brings natural medicine and the interior life into one way of caring for the whole person.

I was seven years old when I first sensed that something sacred was waiting for me. I have spent my life learning how to name it, and helping other women find their way to it.

Why I do this work

Because the soul is part of the care.

Women of faith have been asked to choose between rigorous care for the body and a living relationship with God. I do not believe we have to choose. Natural medicine can teach us to listen carefully to the body; prayer teaches us to receive our life as gift and responsibility. Christ meets us in both.

I work especially with mothers and with high-performing professional women who carry significant responsibility at work and at home. You may have done everything right and still feel far from yourself. That is a place we can speak about honestly.
